A session on preparing bees for winter will take place on Sunday 18th August from 11.00 am to 1.00 pm, followed by clear up time. The session is primarily intended for beginner and new beekeepers, although all members are welcome. There will be a mix of practical activities with underpinning rationale which will be based on the National Bee Unit 2024 fact sheet. This includes: winter food stores; colony strength and health, including pest management; queen rightness; and hive environment.
The session will be led by the tutors from this year’s Beginners’ Course.
Since this is obviously weather dependent, confirmation or otherwise will be posted on the WSBKA webpage and Facebook group by 9.30 am on Sunday 18th August
